Git is a distributed version control system. Most often it is used by a team of programmers all working on the same project, but it could just as easily be used by journalists collaborating on an article about the Kardashians. GitHub is an online service that hosts Git projects and provides interfaces for programmers to manage a shared code base. In this 2-hour workshop an AcademyX instructor will demonstrate how to use Git and GitHub together to manage a project. Computers are not provided, but you’re welcome to bring a laptop.
