Perl Intermediate - Sacramento
Our intermediate Perl training in Sacramento targets the topics that are difficult for new Perl programmers to decipher on their own: what the cryptic Perl symbols mean, how to debug scripts, and how to correctly install and use other people's modules. By the end of this class you will be able to:
- Monitor your program's execution in the Perl debugger
- Create lists (arrays)
- Create hashes (associative arrays)
- Use the foreach(), keys(), and values() functions to loop through arrays
- Find useful information from the built-in variables like %INC, @INC, and %ENV
- Decipher the @_, $_, $_[0], and other cryptic variables
- Organize your code into subroutines
- Read, write and modify text files using Perl's file I/O features
- Use namespaces and scoping to protect against variable collisions, especially when using other people's modules
- Include and use modules even under conditions where you have limited user rights (e.g., shared hosting environments)
- Download, install, and practice with some of the more popular modules such as Mail::Sendmail, CGI, and LWP::UserAgent
- and much more! See full outline for Intermediate Perl classes
* Note: This class description is for intermediate Perl training in Sacramento. We also offer Perl training in San Francisco, San Jose, and Perl training Los Angeles.
