Using MS PowerPoint Drawing Tools

Arrows, shapes and freeform objects help presenters clarify points more easily than mere words. Using MS PowerPoint, class attendees learn how to develop compelling presentations complete with curves, lines, shapes, arrows and freeform objects. Attendees also discover features that can emphasize words, such as WordArt, 3-D and shadows. Learning the fundamentals of the drawing toolbar, AutoShape, lines, curves and points, students can select and create simple graphic objects and forms. Students also gain practical knowledge in the use of freeform drawing and object editing tools to devise a more customized visual. Finally, course attendees gain hands-on experience in the use of both straight and curved connector objects to design more complex flowcharts and diagrams.

Editing Objects

Presentations often use similar visuals across various slides. Many times, these are identical; other times they vary. In this training course, students lean how to copy, duplicate, move, resize or delete objects from and between slides. They also find out the quickest steps to change object fill, line style and color, using 3-D and shadow to enhance and highlight objects.

Manipulating MS PowerPoint Objects

PowerPoint design relies heavily on object layout and orientation skills. Items within each slide, such as text boxes, photos and charts, are each considered objects. Object order determines which items appear in the foreground and which in the background. In this training course, students learn straightforward tactics to attach text to a graphic, place objects on a slide, move objects from the foreground to the background and alter stacking order. Attendees also learn how to use built-in gridlines, rulers, object rotation and flipping tools to more easily arrange objects within a slide.

Working with Charts

Presenters use charts to display sales growth, budgets and scientific information, among other data. Charts can also significantly improve the visual impact of a message. In this training course, attendees learn how to use MS PowerPoint to build compelling and colorful charts, alter chart text, font color and orientation, save time by automatically feeding data into a chart from a datasheet table, activating a chart or quickly altering the chart type without ever changing the data. In this intermediate training course, attendees also gain practical instruction in formatting chart objects and importing worksheets directly into a presentation slide.

Designing Organization Charts, Tables and Diagrams

Organizational charts help large departments manage team members. Tables and diagrams helps speakers present data visually for easier comprehension and interest. In this MS PowerPoint training course, students learn the quickest and easiest steps to create and edit tables, diagrams and organization charts. They also learn how to customize column width, row height, table size and border style to suit their needs. Finally, course attendees discover simple techniques to combine cells and create dynamic tables using various cell sizes, ideal for designing titles and labels.

Developing Customized Designs

While Microsoft PowerPoint offers a wealth of appealing template designs from which to choose, designers can also choose to create their own custom designs. Following instructor guidance, course attendees learn how to develop original slide templates and color schemes, saving their new default for use as many times as they wish. Topics also including headers and footers creation, handout design, and title and text formatting.

Presenting MS PowerPoint Slide Shows

MS PowerPoint makes it easy to confidently display graphics and text in conjunction with public speeches and presentation. PowerPoint offers a broad range of options to suite each person’s style, whether slides are advanced by the speaker or an assistant, or automatically at pre-determined intervals. Exploring more advanced features, class attendees find out how to wow their audience using built-in transitional effects and timed display. Students also learn how to master the Slide Show view, standard menu bar and shortcuts. PowerPoint allows for both automated and manual slide advancement. In this course, students learn how to set-up their presentation based on the speakers’ needs, hiding unnecessary slides without deleting them.
