Access 2003 Fundamentals - San Francisco
Microsoft Access is a database application organizations use to store and retrieve information about customers, products, employees, and other important data.
The main components of Microsoft Access are: tables where the data is stored, queries that are subsets of that data, forms where users edit data, and reports that summarize data for printing. Microsoft's well known graphic interface makes creating and maintaining that data easy and efficient.
Our 2003 Access training in San Francisco takes you from the building blocks of a database to the actual creation of tables and forms in which we enter information to the retrieval of that data with queries and reports. We teach you "must-know" techniques, including how to:
- Set up databases with related information, such as orders, products, and customers
- Design new databases, both from scratch and using MS Access's built-in templates
- Create tables that contain the data, and differentiate between different data types: text, dates, numbers, etc.
- Set up data entry rules such as pre-defined formats for phone numbers, dates, and other types of data
- Design queries that extract data from the tables, such as a set of customers that live in a particular city
- Create reports that summarize the information in tables or queries
- Create forms for allowing users to enter records one screen at a time
- Enhancing reports and forms with alignment, page numbers, calculated values, etc.
